Whether you are a new model, working model or aspiring model, having the right photos at the right time is crucial to your success. Testing is fundamental for every model starting out and continues throughout every models’ career. The trick is learning how to get the most you can out of every test you do.
Dealing with rejection
Rejection and learning how to deal with it is critical to the success, happiness and health of any model or aspiring model. Whether every agency you’ve visited has passed on you or if you have an agency and the clients just aren’t booking you, realizing that rejection isn’t personal is key.
Working with your agency (or, the Model-Agent Model)
The moment you sign the contract, your agency should take control of your career. Some agents are better than others, so be sure to ask lots of questions and be proactive. Make sure that after your first meeting with the agency, you have a clear plan and timeline for your development and next steps. Don’t be afraid to take notes. Your next steps should include grooming, testing, and practice.

Sometimes, the client will request specific items. If you are working with a make-up artist or hair stylist, you generally won’t need to carry hair or make-up products, however, they are great to have just in case.
