Agency profile: Heffner Management

Though most don’t think of Seattle as one of the centers of modeling, Heffner Management has an impressive plus board and is one of the busiest, most successful direct booking plus agencies in the country. Their clients include Nordstrom, Macy’s, Torrid, Kohl’s, Just My Size, and Hanes. Having started the careers of plus-size supermodels Barbara Brickner and Katie H, Heffner continues to search for their next superstar as well as continues to grow their board of working pros from around the country.

The agents look for both new and experienced plus size models at both the local level as well as nationally. New models should be local, but if your look is exceptional and you are willing to invest in photography, you will be considered.

Models should be 5’8″ to 6′ tall and range from a size 12 to a size 20. If you live in or within driving distance of Seattle, coming in for open call is preferred. Alternatively, you can email your photos, contact information, height and measurements to info@heffnermanagement.com.

Tara Lynn

One of the plus industries newest plus-size supermodels, Tara started her career simply by showing up for an open call at Heffner. New Faces Director Jamie Fish said that as she saw Tara approaching the agency for open call, she was so beautiful that she assumed she was already a working model. Heffner signed her on the spot and she quickly booked her first job off of just Polaroids.

Tara has now appeared in a number of fashion publications including landing the cover of French Elle and appearing in a fashion spread for V Magazine.

Erin Tinsley

Agency owner Nancy Peppler spotted Erin in a restaurant in Seattle and immediately approached her. This 5’8” beauty had only been with the agency a short time when she started working steadily for Nordstrom.

Barbara Brickner

One of the original plus-size supermodels, Barbara has worked steadily for many years for clients including Nordstrom, Land’s End, and Reitmans. You can read the PlusModels’ interview with Barbara Brickner here.

Katie H

Discovered during a school volleyball trip to Seattle, Katie has worked for some of the top clients in the industry including Torrid, Nordstrom, and Kiyonna. Katie has recently launched her own model management company, Natural Model Management. Additionally, Katie styles and photographs models in partnership with her boyfriend Bradford, a former model.

Katy Jensen

This 5’11” blonde continues to work both in the US and abroad. Her bubbly personality and killer curves keep her busy with her regular clients Kohl’s and Macy’s.
