Antique Brown Meiji Japanese Uchikake WeddingKimono w/ Cranes & Floral For your consideration is this incredible antique Japanese wedding kimono from the Meiji Period (1868 - 1913). This Period brought large-scale industry and chemical dyeing techniques from the West to Japan. Using new processes, silk was produced with greater quality and at reasonable prices. In this Period, women were no longer forofferden to wear silk kimono. The main color of this uchikake is brown with rows of floral including plum, pine, and belleflowers. Geometric shapes and small flying cranes also appear in the design of this stunning uchikake. Both interior lining and exterior shell are made of 100% fine Japanese silk. With any antique kimono, it may have minor defects that are hardly noticeable when displayed. This uchikake has small worn areas on the bunting, but they do not affect the beauty of this kimono.
