Elegant Japanese Silk Hand-painted TomesodeKimono - Mirror Image
your consideration is this gorgeous tomesode with a mirror image. The tomesode is a formal kimono worn by married women to a Japanese
wedding ceremony of a close relative. The black background of a tomesode
is clearly designed to contrast with the white uchikake worn by the bride.
Patterned below the waistline, the tomesode is the most formal kimono for
married women. Our tomesode is from the 20s or 30s and has cranes, geometric shapes, bridges, and floral including pine, plum, and chrysanthemums. The most amazing part is the mirror image which is the same on each side of the kimono. There are also five
mons (family crests) on this garment - three across the back and two on the
front chest. Both interior lining and outer shell are made of 100% silk.
Hand painted, this kimono would definitely make a statement if it were
hung on a wall as a piece of art or worn for a special occasion. length: 23.5 inchesKimono length: 56 inchesBody width: 22 inchesWrist-to-wrist: 48 inches Feel
