An American staple for dress or work, this pair is a 20th century artisanal custom order. The artistry is not only in the end product, but in the hide selection/matching, the tooling and stitching, the dying and coloring, the final patina, the detailed pieces that comprise the Stanley family of Texas artisans.This pair - not our first rodeo - caught our eye only recently, hidden away. Their markings indicate a custom order but don\'t let that slow you down. Our expert friend says these are coded to 11B. Consider the measurements given, review/zoom pictures, compare to measurements on a favorite pair of boots or shoes (add 1/2\" to any ankle if comparing an open shoe). Condition is very good; sole wear indicates no gravel, implying floor or walkway use. Heels are level.
--Height, ground to top of pullstrap: 15\" (tall)
--Leg opening/scallop: 6-1/4\"/3\" scallop
--Wall-to-toe is 12\"; ball of foot: 3-7/8\" wide, both boots. Given the ankle circ., consider these \"Narrow\".
--Circumference at ankle: 13-1/2\" both boots.
--Instep to floor: 5\"--5-1/2\" (remember, this is the same \"ankle circ.\" point, the narrowest point your foot enters the footbox).
--Summary: while the length indicates an 11, the ankle to instep is tight test fitted to a 9, potentially narrow as well. If you don\'t have a high instep, 9; if not, 8.5. Cobblers have custom stretchers to address/adjust this.Color/detail: these are intense, rich hides. The lizard is a nice dark mahogany; the stitched upper cowhide legs are a rich red, overlaid with a darker, almost black, handrubbed detail. Beautifully antiqued patination, lizard appliqueed arrow pullstraps. Finally, stitched hidden Stanley initials in each boot vamp!Kidskin interiors, inked marks \"GA4K\", \"B2060\", \"2115\". \"359\" in the right bootleg. Western stacked heel (1-3/4\") nice comfy rounded point toe. No separation in skins, supple. Interiors great, soft. Nice detailed lizard in straps.
