Vintage Japanese Kuro Tomesode Kimono w/ Plum Blossoms & Yuzen - 5 Mons: $70
Elegant Lined Japanese Kuro Tomesode KimonoPlum Blossoms & Yuzen5 Kamon For your consideration is this gorgeous kuro (black) tomesode with five mons. The tomesode is a formal kimono worn by married women to a Japanese wedding ceremony of a close relative. The black background of a tomesode is clearly designed to contrast with the white uchikake worn by the bride. Patterned below the waistline, the tomesode is the most formal kimono for married women. Our lined tomesode has colorful plum blossoms, some trimmed with gold couching. There are also five kamon (family crests) on this garment - three across the back and two on the front chest with a design of paulownia. Both interior lining and outer shell are made of 100% silk. Hand painted with the Yuzen technique, this kimono is a perfect example of wearable art.
