Vintage Round Carborundum Sharpening Stone. Made in Niagara Falls NY. 4” diam by 1.5” thick. Dual grit. Course for getting a shape and fine for creating a razor sharp edge. Condition is new as in never been used. Comes in original box that is a bit worn. This model is discontinued. I could not get a date of manufacture on this even from the company that made them. The word is that it was made possibly anywhere from the 1920s to the 1960s. I found this model in the 1927 catalogue. My Pa owns and loves a similar stone and sharpens everything from his axe to his old timer pocket knife on it and swears by it. He especially uses it to sharpen his wood planer blades. Very nice and unique stone. Has a finger groove around the entire stone for added grip and comfort. Please ask any and all questions or concerns before offerding. This item is in Alaska so I do not offer returns as the shipping from here is atrocious! Thanks for offerding.
