This is an early Project Mercury publication produced during the beginning of America's manned space program. The booklet discusses the Mercury program, the original seven Mercury astronauts, astronaut tracking, orbital flight, capsule recovery, communications, and preparations for America's first manned space flights.
Especially interesting is the period wording stating that Mercury test flights were scheduled during 1961, dating this publication to the historic period surrounding America's first human spaceflight efforts.
