Genuine WWII example of an Australian or New Zealand made commando aluminum handle fighting nkl knife. This style knife is a hard to find rare version marked TUI with a bowie style blade. A nearly identical knife is featured in the book FIGHTING KNIVES by Frederick Stephens on page 53 as well as on the front and back cover.This knife is also mentioned in The Best of US Military Knives: Bayonets; Machetes by M.H Cole on page 179 as a \"Type 2\", which was used to some extent by the U.S. Marine Corps.10.5\" overall length. Blade length measures 6.25\".The blade appears in overall good condition with good profile. The rear \'point\' on the handle shows a lower profile than examples found in photos found online. No sheath.
