  This authentic American Revolutionary War document is a manuscript military pay order issued by the State of Connecticut Pay-Table Office in Hartford, dated June 1, 1781. The voucher directs the State Treasurer, John Lawrence, to pay three pounds to Ralph Pomeroy, who served as a critical Deputy Quartermaster and military paymaster responsible for funding Continental Army troops and securing battlefield supplies.

  The document is signed on the front by William Moseley alongside an additional Pay-Table Committee official, and it features a contemporary tracking endorsement on the reverse side as visible in the photos. The Pay-Table (or Committee of Four) managed Connecticut's intense wartime finances during the revolution, making this a tangible financial relic from the final year of major combat leading up to the victory at Yorktown.
