Charming vintage A&P Carnival souvenir hand fan from the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair, “A Century of Progress.”
The colorful illustration features a whimsical cow leaping above the A&P carnival pavilion, surrounded by flowers and a scalloped yellow border. A decorative pineapple adorns the handle. Tony Sarg’s printed signature appears at the lower right of the illustration.
The reverse displays the A&P Carnival emblem with fruit motifs and the wording “A Century of Progress—A&P Carnival—Chicago Worlds Fair—1933.”
A wonderful piece of Depression-era advertising ephemera, combining playful illustration with World’s Fair and grocery-store history. Attractive for display or framing.
