1933\" FDR: Man Of The Hour\" Bronze-Toned Metal Mantel/Desk Clock WORKS: $140.00
Up for sale is a vintage (1933) \"FDR: Man of the Hour\" bronze clock. Thisfigural mantel or desk clock was produced by the United Electric Clock Corpof Brooklyn, New York in 1933. The body of the clock is made of a cast metal with an aged copper or bronze-like finish. It depicts President Franklin D. Roosevelt standing firmly at a ship\'s wheel, symbolizing him steering the ship of state. The clock\'s base features the embossed text \"F.D.R. The Man of the Hour,\" a popular slogan from his first presidential inauguration and the early New Deal era.The clock measures 15\" tall, 10\" wide and 4\" deep. It has nearly 100 years of patina intact and looks great. The clock features an electric synchronous movement; specifically a 5 ½\" \" Sessions Self-Starting movement. The power cord is 4 feet long and in good condition. Since it has a polarized plug it is NOT the original cord. I\'ve tested it for several days and it worked great. As you can see from the photos the bottom of the clock needs to be re-felted.
