You can print a full color copy of the manualor print only the pages you want orneed!This is THE pilot's manual for the famous dash 3 & 4 models of the SB2C Helldiver built by Curtiss, Fairchild of Canada and Canadian Car & Foundry during WWII. The SB2C was intended as a replacement aircraft for the aging SBD Dauntless. After a slow start and numerous teething troubles, the SB2C made its combat debut in November 1943 against targets at Rabaul. They were used in most major battles of the Pacific, but most famous for sinking the Japanese Super Battleship, the Yamato. The Dash 3 and 4 versions solved the problem of being underpowered by having a 1,900 HP Wright R 2600-20 engine and driving a 4 bladed Curtiss prop. The Dash 4 had underwing racks for 8 five inch rockets or 1,000 lb bombs. Curtiss built 1,112 of the dash 3's and 2,045 of the dash 4's. Fairchild of Canada built 150 dash 3's and 100 dash 4's.
