The advertisement promotes Maine Sardines for sandwiches, snacks, and main-course dishes. Printed claims describe the sardines as a nutritious, lower-cost protein food packed in vegetable salad oils, mustard sauce, or tomato sauce under government inspection. The central photograph shows a platter labeled “Golden Fried Maine Sardines.”
A detachable-style mail-in form invites readers to request a free Maine Sardine recipe book from the Maine Sardine Industry, Augusta, Maine. The form remains present and has not been filled in or clipped.
This is an authentic 1952 magazine advertisement, not a modern reproduction. Based on the one-inch measurement grid, it measures approximately 11 inches wide by 3⅜ inches tall. The listing is for the original advertising page/side shown. No sardines, food, recipe booklet, frame, or display accessories are included.
Good vintage condition with mild age toning, scattered small surface marks and spots, light edge wear, and a few faint handling creases or wrinkles. The upper edge has slight unevenness consistent with removal from a vintage magazine. No major tears, writing, clipping of the mail-in form, or missing sections were observed. Please examine all photographs carefully because they are part of the condition description.
The advertisement will be placed in moisture protection and shipped in a stay-flat rigid mailer. “Do Not Bend” labels will be applied to the front and back. Flat USPS shipping is $8.77. Combined shipping is available when multiple qualifying advertisements are purchased.
Thirty-day returns are accepted. The buyer is responsible for return shipping, and the advertisement must be returned in the same condition in which it was received.
