1960\'s Vtg. Aircraft Company Test Pilot Flight Suit & Jacket, Flite Wear, NASAThis is a set of 1960\'s vintage commercially made flight jacket and flight suit as worn by aircraft company test pilot\'s and NASA pilots. The jacket was made by The Bowlers Shirt & Uniform Company of Los Angeles. The jacket has a light blue exterior and an Orange nylon interior. The jacket does not appear to have a size in it. Zipped up and laying flat it measures about 24 1/2\" across the chest at the armpits, about 20 1/2\" from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back of the shoulders, about 24\" from the shoulder seam down the sleeve to the end of the cuffs, and about 25\" from the collar seam down the center of the back to the bottom of the waistband. The jacket is in very nice condition. It has some very light staining from normal use that is hard to see unless you look at it under bright light. It had 2 patches on the chest that were removed. You can\'t see it on the blue side, but you can see needle holes on the orange side. A small section of the underarm sleeve seam has come unseen on the orange side, but could be easily resewed. The light blue flight suit was manufactured by Flite Wear/Land Manufacturing Co. of Wichita, Kansas. With the white Velcro and Conmar zippers this flight suit was likely manufactured in the mid to late 1960\'s. The flight suit does not appear to have a size in it, but zipped up and laying flat it measures about 23\" across the chest at the armpits, about 19 1/2\" from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back of the shoulders, about 23 1/2\" from the shoulder seam down the sleeve to the end of the cuff, about 34\" from the collar seam down the center of the back to the crotch and about 29 1/2\" on the inseam from the crotch to the end of the legs. The flight suit has a small rust stain on the right shoulder which is shown in the photos. I would call both pieces about a Size Large. This is an exceptionally rare set of flight jacket and suit and they are in very good condition for being 60 years old. This is what the hot shot company pilot\'s and Astronauts were wearing back in the day.
