You are looking at an original, unopened roll of Buttermint Life Savers from the Beech-Nut Life Savers era, made in Canajoharie, New York.
Life Savers were invented in 1912, and after the 1956 merger with Beech-Nut Packing Company, production was centered in Canajoharie — the town Beech-Nut advertised as "Flavor-Town". This roll still carries the "Beech-Nut Life Savers, Inc., Canajoharie, N.Y." address.
Condition – excellent vintage, honestly described:
• Foil inner wrap: in perfect condition. Tight, bright gold, no punctures, no dents, no corrosion, no sugar bloom showing through. Still fully sealed.
• Outer paper wrapper: colors are vivid, green leaves and orange script are clean with no fading, no tears, no stains, no writing. The paper is complete and displays beautifully.
• The sleeve fit: to be completely transparent, the outer sleeve is a little loose, which is to be expected after 40+ years as the old glue relaxes. It is NOT torn, split, or damaged in any way – it just slides slightly on the foil instead of being glued drum-tight like the day it left the factory. There is nothing wrong with it.
• Overall: no crushing, no fading, no water damage. Stored cool, dry, and dark in a private collection. See photos – this exact roll is what you will receive.
