2 Thanksgiving Antique Postcards. EMB. Gold. Children. Artist: HBG. PUBL: L&E
This is a nice group of antique THANKSGIVING postcards from the early 1900s. These postcards have the classic look that were seen on antique postcards. They show a CHILD praying at dinner time, and a couple of pilgrims / farmers working in the field. The postcards are nicely drawn and have a colorful and attractive look to them. They have good detail that makes them pleasing to look at. These postcards are nicelyEMBOSSED and they have GOLD TRIM in the design. They come from the same publisher, L & E, and the artist is HBG.
The publisher of these antique postcards is Leubrie & Elkus (L. & E.), and their best known artist is H.B. Griggs (HBG), who made Holiday, Patriotic and Comic postcards.Griggs is a well-known and sought after artist by collectors.
The designs of these postcards have a nice feel of the Thanksgiving season, and also provide a glimpse of life back in the early 1900s. They are good postcards to add to a collection. They wouldappeal to collectors because of their nice designs, their colorful nature, and how they capture the postcard style used back in the early 1900s. Overall, a niceselection of antique Thanksgiving postcards at a reasonable price.
The postcards are UNPOSTED (1) and POSTED (1) with a cancel date of 1909. These postcards would have been \"Printed in Germany\" during the \"Golden Age of Postcards\" (1908-1915). They have DIVIDED backs.
These are BETTER POSTCARDS and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains, paper toning, and edge wear due to their age (over 100 years old!).The photos show the postcards and the backs.
