Antique 17Th C. Station Of The Cross Oil Paintings On Canvas Masterpieces RARE For Sale

This product is a rare and antique set of 17th-century Station of the Cross oil paintings on canvas. The large paintings depict religious themes such as Catholicism, figures of Christ, and other religious subjects. Created in the Realism style with oil painting techniques, these one-of-a-kind masterpieces were produced between 1850-1899 (estimated).

I took a couple of these along with pictures of all of them to our local museum Director, who authenticated them and said they were extremely good quality paintings that were estimated to be in the mid 1800s. A couple of the paintings have some touchups that are not noticeable and one of the paintings did have a tear in the canvas and was touched up as shown in the photo. I’m sure that a good artist could fix this to where it is not noticeable. It is not terribly noticeable now.

These are a truly rare set and unique to find them all together after all of these years. All of the pieces have a inventory number of some sort, which I assume they were in a museum or antique store at some point. One of the pieces has a name, and a date scratched into the frame which looks like it says ANNO/1812 but I cannot guarantee that this is anything authentic. Please look at the photos.

Please keep in mind that these pieces are approximately 200 years old and are not in perfect condition. Some of the canvases are a little wavy and some of them have loose canvas around the back where they are wrapped on the frame. Some of them have minor touchups as mentioned before. With that said, these are extremely beautiful historic pieces sure to invoke emotion and conversation.

Measuring 28" in height and 19.5" in width, these original paintings are a unique and culturally significant addition to any art collection.
