Beautiful antique English china tea and serving collection dating primarily to the 1920s, with striking early Art Deco / Imari-inspired decoration. The majority of this set is Standard China, Made in England – a trade name used by Chapmans (Longton) Ltd of Staffordshire. This style of Standard China backstamp dates to approximately 1916–1930, placing these pieces firmly in the early 20th century and most likely in the 1920s.The coordinating square serving bowl is marked Carlisle Ware, Burgess Bros, Longton, England. Burgess Bros operated from 1922–1939, making it entirely consistent with the period of the Standard China pieces.Although produced by two Staffordshire manufacturers, the Carlisle Ware bowl coordinates beautifully with the service and appears to have been used alongside it for many years.17 pieces in total:2 x teacups
