🌸 Antique 19th C. Japanese Satsuma Moriage Chocolate Pot / Geisha & Immortals 🌸
Absolutely stunning, 19th-century Japanese Satsuma chocolate pot (or tall ewer pitcher) dating back to around the 1890s.The hand-painted artwork on this piece is incredible. It features a detailed traditional scene of Geishas and Immortals resting along a riverbank landscape. The best part is the heavy, raised-dot \"moriage\" enamel work. It gives the entire surface a wonderful, 3D textured feel that you can actually run your fingers over. Between the ornate geometric handle, the floral borders, and the awesome dragon finial on the lid, it makes a massive statement on display.DIMENSIONS:
• Stands about 9 inches tall with the lid on.
• Measures about 6 inches wide from the back of the handle to the tip of the front pouring spout.CONDITION REPORT:
This piece is in truly excellent antique condition. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs anywhere on the body, handle, spout, or lid. The hand-painted colors are still incredibly bright, and the textured moriage beadwork is completely intact. Please note that the white porcelain areas show beautiful, tight micro-crazing in the glaze. This is completely normal, expected, and a great sign of authenticity for earthenware from this era. Also, the bottom base ring features a clean, smooth indentation—this is a factory-made ventilation notch from production, not a chip!PHOTOS & QUESTIONS:
