Antique French Chatellerault 24-Piece Bakelite Knife Set: Original Case Art Deco For Sale

Antique French Chatellerault 24-Piece Bakelite Knife Set: OriginalCase, Art Deco. According to the former owner, these were a gift from a closefriend 30-40 years ago. That friend lived in France and brought them down tothe States during a visit, saying that they had been in her family for ‘a verylong time’. Although the previous owner could not speak on their actual usebefore becoming hers, she said they were never used for food after being gifted(simply stored away). The box is original but heavily worn. I’ve dealt withmany knife/utensil collections over the years (sterling, steel, plated, etc.),however I’m still sort of surprised at how good of shape this set is given itsage. The knives themselves are also much lighter than you would expect comparedto more contemporary ones.
