The piece measures approximately 5¼ inches long and 3 inches high. The underside bears a faded blue factory mark, impressed factory/model markings, and a hand-painted red decorator's number. The blue mark appears similar to marks associated with Conta & Boehme of Pößneck, Germany, a major producer of Victorian porcelain Fairings, but it is too indistinct for me to make a definitive attribution. It is therefore being sold as German, probably late 19th century, possibly Conta & Boehme.
A beautiful, rare and happy piece in very good condition.
