Description:
Vintage early 20th-century postcard showing a large mountain resort hotel complex set against wooded hills. The card features a handwritten message on the front and is postmarked 1908, mailed to Yolo County, California. Original one-cent U.S. stamp present with clear circular cancellation. Sepia-toned image with visible age wear consistent with use, including surface toning and light edge wear. Unused divided back style typical of the era.
Historical Value:
This postcard represents early California resort and leisure culture during the pre-1910 period, when mountain hotels served as popular retreats. The 1908 postmark places it firmly in the early postcard “Golden Age,” and the handwritten message adds personal social history tied to rural California correspondence.
