An excellent and extremely showy two-sided specimen of iridescent, botryoidal hematite / goethite from Graves Mountain in Georgia.Turgite is a term commonly used these days to describe a mixture of Goethite and Hematite. It has amazing iridescence with a rainbow of colors. It has unusual stalactitic form with a slight bit of limonite matrix at the base, and minor quartz present. Many of the delicate thin tips are missing as most are with specimens such as this. Some happened during extraction and others after formation in the pocket.A very beautiful and unusual specimen from Graves Mountain.
