Original vintage named U.S. Marine Corps officer's garment/uniform bag personalized:
“BRAD SLENNING
LIEUTENANT COLONEL
U.S. MARINES”
with Naval Aviation-style wings displayed above the name.
Research strongly identifies the named officer as Lieutenant Colonel Bradford Noel Slenning, USMC.
Official U.S. government and Marine Corps historical records document Bradford N. Slenning's military career beginning with his appointment as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1946.
During the Korean War, official Marine Corps history identifies Captain Bradford N. Slenning as Commanding Officer of Headquarters Squadron, Marine Aircraft Group 12 (MAG-12), beginning May 15, 1953.
Published military award records additionally identify Bradford N. Slenning, USMC service number 0-43064, as a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross for aerial operations against enemy forces in Korea and report a Gold Star in lieu of a second Distinguished Flying Cross. The original award citation has not been independently verified by the seller.
