Outstanding large new-old-stock knife-making lot featuring 20 unfinished clip-point Bowie knives/blades marked:
“ORIGINAL BOWIE KNIFE”
“SUPER HOLLOW GROUND”
The lot includes 20 Bowie blades with stag/buckhorn handles and brass hardware, plus a substantial amount of additional vintage knife-making material.
INCLUDED:
• 20 super hollow-ground Bowie blades
• 20 stag/buckhorn handles
• Extra stag/buckhorn, including red stag material
• Hardwood handle blocks/scales
• Black handle material
• Brass guards, pommels and end caps
• Threaded fittings, pins, rivets and assorted hardware
• Brass rod stock
• Brass/copper sheet and plate stock
• Additional assorted knife-making components
Many of the additional components remain in their original old-stock packaging, with multiple labels clearly marked “MADE IN GERMANY.”
CONDITION:
These are unfinished new-old-stock blades and knife-making components that have been stored for many years.
The blades have been kept coated with protective oil. The darker/wet-looking coloration visible in the photographs is from the oil coating. The blades have not been cleaned, polished, restored or refinished.
Normal storage marks, patina or minor surface oxidation may be present from age and long-term storage.
This is an unusually large, cohesive vintage knife-making lot with 20 matching Bowie knives plus a substantial inventory of additional materials and hardware.
