Lot Vintage WWII US Navy USN Officers Mess Dinner Forks Kings Silverplate: $149.00
Up for sale is a vintage lot of eleven (11) authentic World War II era U.S. Navy (USN) Officers' Mess Dinner Forks. A gift from my father in law, a USN veteran. All pieces feature the classic, highly ornate "Kings Pattern" design with detailed shell motifs and scrolls. The USN stamp font groups these as 5,5,1.
Each fork is proudly stamped "U.S.N." on the front handle. The reverse side of one set of 5 features authentic WWII-era contract backstamps including the "International Silver Co. / I S" hallmark and one (the nicest?) "National Silver Co." mark. The differing fonts used in USN stamp, obvious pressing mold wear and the slight variations of Kings Pattern make this lot a time capsule the of the USN WWII period. Lovingly collected over a long and full lifetime.
There are a couple or so that have started deplating where abrasion has occurred. These are closely documented in the macro pics. Please review closely.
Condition: Clean vintage condition for over 80 years! These pieces show a beautiful historical patina/tarnish and minor cosmetic scuffs consistent with their age and actual military service (except where photographically noted).
Shipping: Competitively priced shipping with combined options available. Securely packed to protect the silverplate finish.
