Item Description:
Up for sale is a great collector or user lot of four (4) vintage Stanley Bailey woodworking hand planes. These tools were recently acquired from an estate and are being sold together as a single lot. They feature fantastic workshop patina, solid iron castings, and are excellent candidates for a light restoration or immediate setup as dedicated workshop users.
Please see the detailed breakdown of the planes included below:
• Stanley Bailey No. 7 Jointer Plane: The star of the lot. Features a massive 22-inch sole designed for flattening long board edges. It displays a classic pre-war "Bailey" cast toe marking with an aged, dark wood rear tote and front knob.
• Stanley Bailey No. 6 Fore Plane: A rugged, pre-war heavy workhorse plane (approx. 18 inches long) with a plain cast Stanley lever cap and dark hardwood furniture. The bed casting behind the frog is clearly stamped "No 6".
• Stanley Bailey No. 5 Jack Plane: A mid-century era favorite featuring the distinct orange/red painted "Stanley" logo on the lever cap. Equipped with durable, high-gloss black handles and a clean "No 5" bed stamp.
• Stanley Bailey Transitional Wood-Bottom Plane (No. 26 / 27 style): A beautiful historical piece measuring approximately 15 inches long. Features a cast-iron Bailey mechanism block securely mounted to a thick beechwood sole.
Condition Notes:
All planes are in good, honest vintage condition with expected cosmetic surface wear, dust, and minor surface oxidation from storage. The soles and sides are structurally sound, and the casting bodies are free of obvious hairline cracks or welds. The adjustment wheels and levers move freely. The wood bottom on the transitional plane shows typical light scuffs but remains flat and solid. Blades will require standard sharpening/honing before use.
Please review all high-resolution photos carefully to assess the exact cosmetic condition and parts completeness before offerding. Items are sold as-is.
Shipping:
Due to the significant weight of these cast-iron tools (especially the No. 7 and No. 6), this lot will be securely packed in a heavy-duty box with plenty of protective padding to ensure safe transit.
