MINT Original 1958 24 Hours of Le Mans Poster Michel Beligond Swiss Lithograph: $1295.00
An exceptional, museum-grade piece of motorsport history: an authentic, original 1958 24 Heures du Mans lithograph poster. This is a verified period original printed in 1958, not a modern digital reproduction or reprint.Designed by the legendary French motorsport artist Michel Beligond, this iconic artwork masterfully captures a red sports racing car charging down the track and splashing through the rain beneath the historic Dunlop Bridge. The 1958 Grand Prix of Endurance is legendary among racing historians as the historic year Phil Hill became the first American-born driver to win Le Mans, piloting a Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa alongside Olivier Gendebien.Elite Provenance & HistoryThis poster features an extraordinary backstory that adds immensely to its value. It was acquired directly from the estate of William P. Semon Jr., a prominent racing driver who competed across Europe during the 1950s and 1960s.Since its acquisition at the circuit in 1958, this piece has been stored carefully rolled inside a protective poster storage tube. It has never been mounted, framed, or hung, meaning it has been shielded from sunlight and environmental wear for nearly seven decades. Apart from brief handling, this poster remains exactly as it was when it left the printer in 1958.Product Specifications
