Up for sale is a charming vintage miniature amphora-style vase from Israel – a classic mid-20th century souvenir piece perfect for collectors of Israeli pottery, Judaica, vintage ceramics, or mid-century modern decor!
This elegant black glazed ceramic vase features a beautiful traditional double-handled urn design inspired by ancient Greek/Roman amphorae – bulbous body, narrow neck, flared rim, and small pedestal base. Standing approximately 5.5 inches tall (perfect shelf or display size), it has a rich, glossy gunmetal black finish with subtle sheen and light wear that adds to its authentic vintage character.
Around the neck is the original twine cord with a dangling red wax seal.
The base bears the classic export mark in an oval: Hebrew text (appears as חוצות ישראל or similar variant, translating roughly to "Israel Exports" or promotional branding) paired with crisp "MADE IN ISRAEL" lettering in white on a green/black foil/sticker background – unmistakable for genuine vintage Israeli ware from the post-1948 export boom era.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition overall – no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs noted. Light surface wear/scuffs consistent with age (see close-up photos), original red seal and string intact. Displays beautifully!
A fantastic addition to any collection of vintage Israeli souvenirs, black pottery, amphora vases, handled urns, Judaica decor, mid-century Israeli ceramics, or tourist pottery from the Holy Land. These small black double-handled vases are increasingly sought after by collectors!
