Striking pair of early 19th century English pearlware plates in the Imari taste, likely Staffordshire and possibly attributable to Spode, circa 1820 or a Staffordshire factory working in the Spode manner.
Each plate features richly hand-painted decoration with lotus blossoms, cobalt blue foliage, iron red/orange enameling, and gilt highlights in the traditional English interpretation of Japanese Imari porcelain.
Both plates retain their impressed triangular marks to the reverse and display beautifully with vibrant color and strong decorative presence.
Measurements:Approx. 9-1/4 inches diameter each.
Condition:Very good antique condition overall with age-appropriate wear including minor surface wear, light glaze imperfections, and expected rubbing to gilt decoration consistent with early 19th century pearlware. No major cracks or repairs observed. Please review all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
A beautiful matching pair for display, collection, or English pottery interest.
Carefully packed, double boxed, and insured for shipping.
