Original Canadian military collar badge of The Durham Regiment. The badge features the distinctive Canadian beaver above the regimental insignia, with scrolls reading: SEMPER PARATUSDURHAM REGT \"Semper Paratus\" translates as \"Always Ready.\" The Durham Regiment was an Ontario Canadian Militia infantry regiment headquartered at Port Hope. Its lineage began as the 46th East Durham Battalion of Infantry in 1866. It became the 46th Durham Regiment in 1900 and was redesignated The Durham Regiment in 1920. The regiment was amalgamated with The Northumberland Regiment in 1936 to form The Midland Regiment. This is an original vintage collar badge with two rear attachment lugs.
