RARE Antique Vintage Christmas 8\" SANTA PIPSQUEAK SQUEAK TOY ORNAMENT - GERMANY For Sale

Up for sale and from our personal collection is this very rare, antique pipsqueak squeak toy Santa ornament. Produced in Germany and easily dating to the early 1900\'s, Santa is in very good condition with the exception of a modest chip on the end of his nose and the fact that he no longer squeaks. A Santa in this identical style can be seen on page 131 of Margaret Schiffer\'s excellent 1984 reference book entitled \"Christmas Ornaments A Festive Study\" and on page 372 of George Johnson\'s invaluable 2004 reference book entitled \"Pictorial Guide to Christmas Ornaments and Collectibles\" where Santa is rated as very rare. A previous owner modified Santa by adding the clip at the top to hang him as an ornament - it is not original to the piece. Santa is relatively clean overall, has wooden hands and feet, a composition face and what is possibly a cardboard torso but we do not know for sure. Has nice, clean hair and a full beard. Measures approximately 8\" from head to toe. Ornament stand not included. Please view our photos carefully as they are part of the description.
