Offered here is an exceptionally scarce original Ford Genuine Parts dealer hanger dating to approximately the 1920s-1930s.
Unlike the porcelain versions that surface with some regularity, this is the much harder-to-find double-sided smaltz painted tin (DST) example. These early painted tin dealership hangers rarely survived due to decades of outdoor exposure, making original examples highly sought after by advanced Ford and automotive advertising collectors.
Measuring approximately 27.5” x 20.75”, the sign displays beautifully from either side with deep blue color, crisp ivory lettering, and the iconic early Ford script. Both sides retain outstanding eye appeal with completely untouched age and patina.
The sign remains in original condition with no evidence of restoration. There is expected edge rust, paint loss, scratches, and honest wear from decades of use, primarily concentrated along one side of the border, exactly as shown in the photographs. The graphics remain bold and highly displayable.
Finding authentic early Ford dealership advertising is becoming increasingly difficult, especially original smaltz-painted tin pieces like this.
