RARE VINTAGE PENDLETON \"Code Talker\" Beaver State Blanket (64\" x 80\"): $449.00
RARE FIND——Pendleton honors the critical role played by Native Americans in defending the United States during World War II. Shortly after Pearl Harbor, Navajo Marines created a unique code using words from their native tongue to describe complex military equipment and operations. This code was disseminated to about 500 Navajo \"Code talkers,\" who were considered so valuable they merited personal bodyguards. Their dedication proved critical in the Pacific Theatre battles of the War, as Japanese forces were unable to crack the code, ultimately leading to the Allied victory in the Pacific Theatre. \"CodeTalker\" tells this historic story using a traditional Navajo banded design and the Navajo cross, flanked by symbols of the War and this crucial wartime code. A moving salute to Native American Veterans and their vital contribution in the battle to secure America\'s freedom. Whether draped over a sofa or wrapped around your shoulders, it\'s a piece that promises to provide both comfort and a touch of timeless elegance. Code talker, is a very unique hard to find piece! The Blanket was purchased new in the early 2000\'s by me and stored in a climate controlled environment, the only time the blanket was removed from the box was for inspection and pictures, it was carefully refolded and returned to the box.
