Rare vintage Peruvian sterling silver figural bell depicting a Tapada Limeña, one of Peru's most recognizable historical fashions. The Tapada Limeña tradition originated in Lima and is known for its elegant dress and distinctive veil that reveals only a single eye.
This beautifully crafted piece features detailed etched decoration and is marked:
T. MATOS R
PERU
925 STERLING
The bell weighs approximately 92 grams and measures approximately 3 inches tall by 1.75 inches wide.
IMPORTANT: The original interior bell clapper/ringer is missing. As a result, this piece is being offered primarily as a decorative collectible, display item, or addition to a sterling silver collection rather than as a functioning bell.
Condition is excellent pre-owned overall. The silver displays beautifully with light age-appropriate wear consistent with careful ownership. No major dents, cracks, breaks, or repairs observed. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the description and condition.
