Wonderful vintage Jack & Jill Flavored Gelatin advertising thimble, believed to date to approximately the 1930s-1940s.
Lightweight aluminum construction with a vivid cobalt blue advertising band and raised silver-tone lettering reading “Jack & Jill” and “Flavored Gelatin.”
A fantastic little piece of early American food advertising and an unusual crossover collectible for vintage advertising, kitchen memorabilia, gelatin/Jell-O and sewing or thimble collectors.
Acquired from a Pennsylvania estate — an especially interesting connection since Jack & Jill Gelatin was produced by Junior Food Products Co. of Tyrone, Pennsylvania.
Considering how small and lightweight these promotional pieces were, this example has survived remarkably well. It retains strong blue color and clearly readable advertising lettering with age-related surface wear as shown.
Exact date is unknown; believed to be circa 1930s-1940s based on the style and construction.
