The Ingersoll Watch Company, founded in the late 19th century, became famous for producing affordable and reliable timepieces. In the 1930s, they secured the rights to produce watches featuring Disney’s Mickey Mouse—creating one of the first character-licensed products in history. These watches quickly became immensely popular and remain highly sought-after collectibles today.
This particular example is commonly referred to as the “5 Notch” (Beaded) case design, a classic style from the early era of Mickey Mouse watches. Featuring Mickey Mouse on the dial, with his arms serving as the hands, this design helped revolutionize both watchmaking and character merchandising.
Condition:
Vintage pre-owned condition with visible wear consistent with age, including surface scratches, patina, and signs of use. The dial and case retain good vintage character and display well overall.
Watch is not in working order but when lightly tapped on the back case, the movement produces a ticking sound, indicating internal components are present. However, the watch has not been fully tested for timekeeping accuracy or long-term operation and will require servicing. Service history is unknown. Unsure if the watch band is original.
