Rare, and highly collectible 1889–1939 Standard Oil Golden Jubilee service station attendant ribbon badge pin. This historic piece of petroliana features the iconic Red Crown logo graphic on a celluloid button with the original two-toned silk presentation ribbon underneath.
Excellent condition. Bright graphics, strong red color, and free of cracks, splits, or heavy surface scratching.Ribbons show honest vintage wear, including light fading to the colors and typical minor fraying along the bottom edges. There are a couple of small age spots on the fabric, but all printed text—including the tiny \"Celebrating Standard Oil\'s 50th Birthday\" line—is perfectly crisp and legible.
Comes beautifully mounted on a maroon felt backing inside a protective display box, making it ready to add to your gas & oil showcase or garage wall immediately.
This badge was commissioned exclusively for Standard Oil Company’s 50th \"Golden Jubilee\" Anniversary (1889–1939).Unlike common consumer souvenirs, this rare piece was an official service station attendant uniform badge. Attendants wore these at the pumps throughout 1939 to promote Standard Oil\'s premium \"Red Crown\" gasoline line. The \"Red Crown\" Legacy: Introduced in the early 20th century, Red Crown was Standard Oil\'s flagship high-grade fuel. It became an iconic symbol of American roadside history and early automotive culture.Because these badges were worn daily by station workers in active automotive garages, the vast majority were ruined by oil, grease, or fuel exposure. Finding an authentic, survived specimen that retains intact silk ribbons and legible text is exceptionally uncommon for petroliana collectors.
