Vintage Late 1940s / Early 1950s Kem-Tone & Kem-Glo Double-Sided Heavy Cardstock Store Advertising Display
Measurements: Approximately 35\" Wide x 27 1/2\" Tall
Up for sale is an original, scarce post-war double-sided heavy cardstock advertising display for Kem-Tone \"Vogue Deep Colors\" and Kem-Glo \"Miracle Lustre Finish\".
This substantial retail store placard was engineered for hardware store display so it could be flipped over or suspended to showcase two distinct advertising campaigns:
Side 1 (Kem-Tone): Features striking Mid-Century Modern graphics proclaiming \"So NEW! So SMART! Lovely Rooms in Deep Tones.\" Showcases a stylish blonde homemaker, an open-concept MCM living room with chartreuse sofa, teal armchairs, and modernist table, plus a husband using the historic \"New Roller-Koater Way.\"
Side 2 (Kem-Glo): Bold red-and-white graphics declaring \"It\'s hard to believe... BUT IT\'S TRUE! Kem-Glo looks and washes like baked enamel.\" Features an exceptional period 1950s steel-cabinet kitchen with cobalt blue counters, vintage stand mixer, and bullet-point test features.
Collector Condition Details:
Printed on thick, rigid store-display cardstock.
Colors remain vibrant, rich, and unfaded on both sides.
Displays honest vintage hardware store wear: bumped/clipped corners, perimeter edge rubs and minor surface creasing along borders, and scattered age foxing/spotting on the light background of the kitchen side (clearly shown in detail photos).
Sold strictly AS-IS, no returns. Please examine all high-resolution photos carefully, as they serve as the ultimate visual description of condition.
Packaging & Shipping:
Due to the oversized 35\" x 27 1/2\" dimensions and rigid cardstock construction, this piece will not be rolled. It will be packaged completely flat, encased between thick sheets of rigid insulation foam board and heavy multi-wall corrugated cardboard to guarantee rigid, bend-free transit. Shipping costs reflect the oversized dimensional package and heavy protective materials required.
