RARE Vintage 1946 US Navy "Plank Owner" Certificate & Original Mailing Tube - Navy Ship's Store Office
Founding Document
An exceptionally rare piece of post-WWII US Naval history. This official "Plank Owner" certificate was issued to Mrs. Frieda L. Klebenoff upon the original commissioning of the Navy Ship's Store Office (NSSO) in Brooklyn, NY on September 16, 1946.
What makes this document extremely scarce for collectors:
Founding NSSO Document: Marks the actual creation of the Navy Ship's Store Office following World War II.
Issued to a Female Recipient: Female-issued WWII/post-war naval commissioning certificates are seldom seen on the market.
Original Brooklyn Tube Included: Comes complete with its original "Our Navy" cardboard storage tube (1 Hanson Place, Brooklyn 17, NY) with original metal end caps and intact shipping label.
Official Signatures & Seals: Features the signature of Rear Admiral Charles A. Blick (SC, USN), intricate vintage nautical artwork (sailing ships, mermaids, sea monsters), and an intact gold foil raised seal.
Dimensions / Packaging: Standard large format certificate. Will be shipped with extreme care—secured inside its original mailing tube and packed inside a heavy-duty outer cardboard mailer/box to ensure safe arrival.
