A colorful 1973 Jim Beam commemorative decanter honoring American Samoa, made of Genuine Regal China by Regal China Corporation for the James B. Beam Distilling Co. The flask-shaped bottle has a celadon green glaze, a molded side handle, a deep green pedestal base, and a glossy brown ceramic stopper.
Each side has a pair of raised oval medallions framed in beaded borders with gold accents, divided by a sculpted palm tree with hand-painted brown highlights.
- One side: The Seal of American Samoa, with its \"Samoa Muamua Le Atua\" motto and 1900 date, and a second medallion reading \"American Samoa\" in gold-highlighted lettering with an anniversary inscription.- Other side: The American Samoa flag in blue, white, and red, and a tropical island scene with a mountain, water, and a traditional fale, captioned \"American Samoa\'s Fono.\"
The underside is embossed \"© Creation of James B. Beam Distilling Co., KY-DRB-230, Genuine Regal China 1973, C. Miller, Regal China Corporation,\" along with a liquor bottle marking.
This piece fits Jim Beam decanter and whiskey bottle collections, Pacific Islands and Samoan souvenirs, tiki and tropical bar décor, and U.S. territory memorabilia. The decanter is empty and sold as a collectible only, with no contents.
Measures approximately 9 1/4 inches tall with the stopper in place.
Condition:Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks observed on the body, handle, or stopper. The glaze is glossy, and the gold trim on the beaded borders and lettering is largely intact. The stopper\'s original plastic stopper base is present and seats in the neck; its underside has a small rust-colored spot at the center. The unglazed foot rim on the underside shows age-related soiling and discoloration, with a small dark mark near one end. There are a few tiny dark specks in the glaze near the neck opening, consistent with original manufacture. Please review all detailed photos for condition, as they are part of the description.
