This is an original vintage Swiss Army Wool Great Coat. This military uniform item was manufactured in the second half of the 20th century (most commonly from the 1950s to 1980s) from 100% dense, heavyweight feldgrau cloth. Key features: Fit: Double-breasted, classic silhouette with wide peak lapels and collar. Size stamped \"50 BB,\" corresponding to European sizing (approximately sizes M-L).This coat features pockets and long sleeves with turned-up cuffs. A single back vent with a buttoned opening.
The \"50 BB\" marking stands for: 50 is the basic European men\'s size. It is designed for a chest circumference of approximately 100 cm (equivalent to an international size L or a Ukrainian size 50). BB is a special index of fullness and height in the Swiss Armed Forces system. The double \"B\" indicates that the overcoat is tailored for a stocky/heavy build (broad shoulders and chest) and is designed for an average height (approximately 170–176 cm). It is shorter in the sleeves and overall length than models with the \"A\" or \"H\" indices, but has a looser fit.
