Vintage 2¼ lb fireman’s pick head axe with a 20-inch wooden handle. This is an older forged axe with remnants of its original red paint and an attractive, untouched patina.The axe is stamped “2¼” indicating the head weight and also bears an “M17” stamp, which appears to be an inventory or inspection mark. No visible manufacturer’s name was found.The handle appears to be an older handle and is original. The head is tight with the original-style wedge arrangement still in place.
