Here is a beautiful, matching set of five (5) antique Chinese Canton painted enamel-on-copper trinket trays or pin dishes.
Dating to the late Qing Dynasty / Early Republic Period (circa 1891–1920), these pieces were hand-crafted for the export market.
Four of the trays feature meticulously hand-painted classical Chinese riverscape scenes—complete with mountains, trees, sailboats, pavilions, and figures—while the highly desirable fifth tray features a charming water fowl/duck motif.
All five pieces feature identical lime-green enamel undersides stamped with the hand-applied block letter "CHINA" export mark, verifying they were made by the same workshop within the specific 1891-1920 tariff window and have remained together as a true set.
Dimensions (Per Tray):
• Length: 3 ¾ inches
• Width: 2 ½ inches
• Height: ½ inch
***Condition***
These are genuine, 100+ year-old antique enamel pieces and show expected signs of age and wear.
• All trays display beautiful, tight age-crazing (hairline fracturing) within the enamel glaze, which is highly characteristic of authentic early Canton enamelware.
• There is minor surface wear, light staining/patina, and small areas of flea-bite glaze loss around the rims.
• The green duck tray features a localized chip/enamel loss right above the bird's head, exposing the copper/metal underneath (visible in photos).
• No major structural bends or repairs.
