Beautiful vintage Chinese porcelain ginger jar with its matching lid, decorated with an elaborate floral and flowering-tree design in famille rose-style enamels.The decoration includes chrysanthemums and other blossoms and foliage in shades of pink, green, blue, red and yellow, with extensive hand-applied outlining and a distinctive stippled background. The matching lid has a blue ground with scrolling floral decoration.The underside is marked “244” in red/orange. This appears to be a production, pattern or decorator number rather than a traditional Chinese reign mark.Approximate size: About 6 inches tall including lid and approximately 4½–5 inches at the widest point.Condition: Very good vintage condition overall. Age-related wear and discoloration are visible on the unglazed foot rim. Please review all photographs closely as they are part of the condition description. No maker or reign mark identified.Age/Origin: Believed to be Chinese and 20th century.
