Up for sale is a charming vintage hand-painted wooden figure depicting a classic Keystone Cop style policeman. This folk art piece features vibrant colors, including a blue uniform jacket with a gold star, a yellow lower garment/tunic, red boots, and a matching blue police helmet. The figure is depicted in a dynamic, animated pose, holding a hand up to salute or shield his eyes, with the other hand resting near a sculpted wooden truncheon or pistol holster at his hip.
The figure slots securely into a painted green wooden base block, allowing it to be easily displayed on a shelf, mantle, or tabletop. Given the design and construction, this piece was likely originally crafted as a lawn ornament, garden figure, or the centerpiece of a wind-powered whirligig.
