Vintage Grove Park Inn Springtime Asheville NC Postcard
Look at this completely beautiful view of the Grove Park Inn soaking up the springtime sun. They call Asheville the Land of the Sky and when you see this massive red roofed stone structure sitting right there on the slopes of Sunset Mountain surrounded by blooming trees, you can entirely understand why. It is a fantastic architectural shot that really captures the old school rustic resort vibe of the area before modern construction took over. The photographer did a brilliant job letting the white and pink blooms take the foreground while the hotel looms like a fortress in the back.
As for the condition it is actually in remarkable shape for its age. You are going to see some expected minor wear along the edges and the corners are just slightly soft, but nothing that distracts from the image at all. The back is entirely unposted and exceptionally clean. Someone clearly bought this as a souvenir and just tucked it away in a book for decades. It is a really solid piece of North Carolina history ready to anchor a new collection.
As an authentic vintage piece, this item may show typical signs of age, which can include minor edge wear, soft or bumped corners, slight yellowing, and light surface blemishes. Please carefully examine all provided high-resolution photos for the most accurate and definitive representation of the item\'s condition prior to purchasing. Trivia Corner
The Grove Park Inn was built using massive raw granite boulders pulled straight off Sunset Mountain and some of those stones weigh as much as ten thousand pounds each. They actually had to build a specialized wagon train system just to haul the rocks down the elevation because standard construction equipment would instantly crush under the sheer weight of the material.
