Vintage MCM cast iron Awa Odori Japanese dancing figures. Set of 3. 7": $95.00
Stylized MCM dancing figures. Complete set of 3. Designer/Origin: They are likely associated with or produced by the Genshichi foundry in Japan. They are often attributed to stylized modernist designs from specific Japanese artists like "Kyuso." Some collectors associate them with the American importer/designer Harvey G. Knoll, as they fit the aesthetic common to his imported pieces, though they are purely Japanese in design origin. Material & Construction: As noted, they are heavy metal. Based on similar examples, they are made of solid cast iron or, less commonly, solid bronze, finished with a dark, textured, matte black patina/coating.
