Here is a stark, high-contrast real photo postcard capturing the sheer violence of the Oregon coast. The photographer, whose last name looks to be Christian, managed to snap this right as a massive swell obliterated itself against the rocky shoreline. It is the kind of gloomy, dramatic coastal weather that makes you want to stay indoors and drink coffee rather than stand on a cliff edge with a camera, but luckily someone else took the risk for us.
